Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using SenderReputation.org ("the Site," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SenderReputation.org, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Site.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Site and its tools.

2. Description of Service

SenderReputation.org provides free email deliverability tools and educational resources, including but not limited to:

  • Domain reputation analysis and Sender Reputation Score generation
  • DNS-based blacklist scanning
  • Email authentication record validation (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
  • DNS record generators (SPF, DMARC)
  • MX record lookup and reverse DNS checking
  • Email header analysis
  • Educational guides, glossary, and blog content

All tools are provided free of charge and require no account registration.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Site and its tools only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Automated scraping - Use bots, crawlers, scrapers, or automated tools to access, download, or extract data from the Site beyond what is necessary for normal search engine indexing.
  • API abuse - Make excessive or automated requests to our API endpoints beyond the published rate limits.
  • Service overloading - Attempt to overload, disrupt, or interfere with the operation of the Site or its infrastructure.
  • Unauthorized access - Attempt to access areas of the Site, server, or systems that are not intended for public access.
  • Malicious use - Use the Site or its results to facilitate spamming, phishing, or any other form of email abuse.
  • Misrepresentation - Misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or the purpose of your use of the tools.

4. Rate Limiting

To ensure fair access for all users, API calls and tool lookups are rate limited. Current limits allow a reasonable number of queries per hour for normal use.

If you exceed the rate limit, you will receive an error response and must wait before making additional requests. Repeated or intentional attempts to circumvent rate limits may result in your IP address being temporarily or permanently blocked.

We reserve the right to adjust rate limits at any time without prior notice.

5. Accuracy and Disclaimers

While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date results, please be aware of the following:

  • Informational purposes only - All tool results are provided for informational purposes and should not be considered definitive assessments of email deliverability.
  • Public DNS data - Our tools query publicly available DNS records. The accuracy of results depends on the current state of DNS at the time of the query.
  • No guarantee of accuracy - We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any results. DNS records can change at any time, and blacklist statuses may vary between providers.
  • Not professional advice - Content and tool results should not be considered a substitute for professional email deliverability consulting, legal advice, or IT services.
  • Cached results - Some results may be served from cache and may not reflect the very latest DNS changes. Cache entries are refreshed periodically.

THE SITE AND ALL TOOLS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on SenderReputation.org, including text, graphics, logos, icons, and software, is the property of SenderReputation.org or its content suppliers and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

  • Sender Reputation Score - The Sender Reputation Score, including its methodology, scoring weights, and grade scale, is a proprietary scoring system developed by SenderReputation.org.
  • Educational content - Our guides, glossary entries, and blog posts are original content. You may reference and link to them but may not reproduce them in full without permission.
  • Tool results - You are free to use the results from our tools for your own purposes, including sharing results with colleagues, clients, or in reports.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SenderReputation.org and its operators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
  • Service interruptions or downtime
  • Inaccurate or incomplete tool results
  • Actions taken based on information provided by our tools or content
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data

Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Site shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the Site (which is zero, as all services are provided free of charge).

8. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site or its tools at any time, with or without notice. This includes the right to:

  • Add, change, or remove tools and features
  • Adjust rate limits and access policies
  • Modify the Sender Reputation Score methodology
  • Update or restructure content

We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Site.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States of America. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located within the United States.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Site.
